JV CATS GET THIRD SHUTOUT IN FOUR OUTINGS

Cara Lee Mason became the third different starting pitcher in four games for the Guntersville JV Tuesday in a cold, drizzly battle with North Jackson.  Mason struck out six Chiefs and walked one in the shutout over North Jackson.  The JV Cats have outscored their opponents 26-1 in four games.

Deanna Creps blasted a 2-1 pitch to centerfield for the first double of the game.  After stealing third, Peyton Whitaker ripped in the first RBI of the night.  Cara Lee Mason singled up the middle to score Whitaker and the first inning ended 2-0.

The only other scoring took place in the bottom of the fourth as Kaitlin Bannister reached on a North Jackson error.  Bannister advanced to second on a passed ball and then stole third base.  Cara Lee Mason fought off a couple of full count pitches, then drilled one down the right field line for a double and her second RBI of the night.  The Cats finished up in 5 with a 3-0 win.

Next up for the JV Cats is DAR on Thursday.  Game time is set for 6:00.
