JV CATS SUFFER FIRST LOSS

Bethany Langer got the Cats going in the first inning as she reached on a 2-out error by the Lady Pirates.  After stealing second base, Kaitlin Bannister hit a fly ball to right field that was misplayed by the defender and Langner scored from second.  Cats led 1-0 at the end of one.

(K) Osborne led off the 3rd with a double to the center field fence for the Lady Pirates.  (S) Crews hit a fly ball into right field to score Osborne and tie the game.  That is what the score remained until the final at-bat for the Pirates.  After Wildcat Kaitlin Bannister struck out the first two batters of the inning, (K) Holland and (B) Bearden hit a pair of singles and (S) Dooley walked to load the bases.  A wild pitch and a passed ball later, the Lady Pirates had a 2-run lead.  The JV Cats couldn't muster a hit in the bottom half of the 6th, and Boaz handed the JV Cats their first loss of the season.
