AGGIE JV ROCK CATS FOR 8 IN FIRST, SWEEP CATS
It was a tough night for the Guntersville JV. The Aggies from Albertville dominated the first half inning of the game, a half inning that lasted 34 minutes. Albertville put eight on the board in the first, then failed to score any more runs the last 3 innings, but it was enough to beat the Cats 8-1.
The loss was the second in as many nights for the the Cats. Boaz defeated Guntersville 3-1 on Monday night to hand the Wildcats their first loss of the season.
Jessy Baker scored the Wildcats only run in the final inning after she singled (the only Wildcat hit) and advanced on an Aggie error and a couple of passed balls.
Cara Lee Mason gave up 8 runs on 6 hits with 3 strikeouts and two walks in the first inning. Mason took a line drive off the left thigh early in the inning and had to move to shortstop. Kaitlyn Bannister took over and allowed 0 runs on 0 hits with 6 strikeouts and 1 walk. (K) Light recorded the win for the Aggies.
